As I've said, and where I disagree with Malakriss and etchazz, I'm interested in the voxel tech and combat mechanics. Could be very fun, they just have to stop screwing up the IP and it could be a very solid game. Not EQ3, but still a solid enjoyable game.

Art is whatever. Voxel trees are fine. You won't notice either if the game is any good. The lore is the abomination. There are no ninjas in eq. Dark elves are not the warrior caste of the elves. Prexus is not god of elemental plane of water.

Bah. Reddit sucks, the only posts that get upvoted are those praising SOE/EQN. Any real issues with the game - such as the lore problems - get buried or removed by the moderators.

I agree with rolx. The point was to jutify starting from one city. The thing is, they could have started from one city and still had DE's worshipping Innoruuk, Trolls & ogres being fat and nasty and etc. There is a lack of imagination on the part of both the lore devs and Marketing. @Kudos...

I should have been more clear - they could have made some changes to the lore to justify building from Qeynos, but exactly this: there was no need for wholesale changes to the god lore, Dark Elves, and etc.

Starting cities now down to three, original items are out-stated by all the new stuff, Hunter's questline & etc. APW is too low level for the level 55s. Edit: But if you enjoy it as it is, more power to you.

Oddly enough I was thinking that SOE could have gotten away with (almost) murder, if they'd just kept the lore closer to the original. Destructible world, MOBA classes, etc. If they'd just kept the lore - shadowknights worshiping Innoruuk, etc. Alternatively, the could have kept the classes...

Not anymore it's not. Maybe between Jan 2007 to Fall 2008 or whenever they killed the population it was EQ 2 1/2 beta. Now it's meh, all the charm is gone and the post 50 game is dull.

Here's hoping for EQ3 - whether from SOE or somebody else.
