I upgraded the Smelter Sword to +5 (max) and it's hitting for over 500 per swing one handed with 40 str / 24 dex. Most boss weapons are not the best in class, but man are they fun to use, and almost all of them have special R2 attacks.

That's the entire point. It's obvious that From doesn't want people stopping at 150 and PVPing from there forever. They want you to continue playing the game, continue adding NG+, and continue on fighting higher and higher level opponents.

The SM system makes it obvious thatFromwants people to continually PVP even up to max level. I think it's a change for the better. IMO, DS2 is the best game of the franchise, including Demon's Souls.

Just joined the sunbros and I'm finding it extremely simple to farm twin dragonriders back to back with people. Easiest fight ever.

I just did it to farm pharros lockstones. You get one for every kill. 20 total kills also nets 20 stones to trade with the crows.

I don't see much value in +souls gear when I know how easy it is to get 100k+ a minute later on. I like the load reduction from the Aurous set.
