On a scale of 1 to 5, with GW2 being a 1 and Tera being a 5, the combat is like a 3. There's a bit more aiming involved that GW2, but it's not as action-like as TERA.

I bought VG at release. It's a useless game though because there is almost zero development behind the game, and it still runs like shit. The only good thing I can say about the game is that the classes were probably the most well designed of any DIKU in the last decade.

That was a fun time, you might get that back with a game like Wildstar.

Horizontal and vertical progression are actually quite different. I mean if you want to boil games down to "you kill stuff and get stuff", then I guess everything is the same in the end?

The whole game is kind of useless, but diplomacy is more so. Just skip it.

The destructable environment looks cool, the character control and interaction look cool. What will really make the game different is the emergent AI and how it interacts in the world. That and if the Rallying Calls or whatever they are actually work and are fun.

Is the time to max level the same 40-60ish hours?

EQN is talking a good game, but I'll wait and see the implementation. GW2 talked a good game, but they didn't end up doing anything revolutionary.

I say that's pretty much perfect. If you can guest on different servers, this doesn't have to happen on every server. This game needs something that's hard to do.

Except for terror builds, which no one used when I last played, sounds like the Necro is in the same exact place. I played power/well builds for the same reason as well. I could never get a good DS build that I was happy with. It always felt too gimmicky compared to other classes.

Yeah, it's pretty retarded. I wonder if there is a larger audience out on Korea/China than in the US because 1am on the East Coast is a bit too late for me. I went to bed at 1am last night. It's also interesting that they are hosting an event at 10pm on a Monday at the Staples Center.
