So when I had time last week to play, I picked to play a Sniper, and plugged in all those new leveling packages to that char. Now I wish I made a Force User of some sort. Oh well. What a waste. Why can't that shit be account bound. :/
We've got like 4 or 5 EQ EMU threads going, and I'm sure there are other EMU games/servers people play on. Would you like to see a sub-forum or forum section dedicated to MMORPG EMUs?
Like Qhue said, it's an expected part of these games. If you can be assed to develop one screw it. Look at SWTOR, they didn't have one at release and I never did any of the dungeons. I had no interest in sitting in a single spot looking for a group while I could be doing quests.
Do you need a...
I would have to say Rift was a pretty large success given it's small initial investment, if we just consider profit. I have a lot of issues with the development of that game, but it was a quality game overall imo.
Well, we've all been following MMORPG forever on these boards and you should be able to read the tea leaves. These are the same people running these studios that have done things in the past. They have track records. With the lack of any other information, if you take the developer's reputation...
Who am I bashing here?
I know you're just fucking with me, but Scott Hartsman is pretty much the only game developer with a really good track record in the MMORPG genre outside some of the Blizzard people.
In case you think I'm some kind of fanboy, Defiance is shallow but fun casual gaming...
No.
But they've added other content that is entertaining to hop in and play some more. The problem with GW2 is that there isn't a lot of stickyness with the end game. Even if you ignore all the PVE, I've surprised the WvW popularity lasted as long as it did.
You keep doing this and I don't know why. I did not even talk about anyone's game-style preference. You can love the fuck out of the Elder Scrolls IP, but if you look at what is available to public objectively (and beyond PR/Dev speak), TESO doesn't look that good from where I'm sitting.
I'd buy the game just support a studio that actually created a LFD at release. Some studio actually knows what kind of systems you need for games like this! This alone makes me think they are not retards. Good sign.
There is a huuuuuuuuuuuuge subset of gamers out there that are just retarded. People who think Camelot Unchained is going to be awesome because they never actually pay attention to anything other than "BUT DAOC!" or TESO in "BUT ELDER SCROLLS!"
Yeah I never liked that. I have no desire to sit on Wildstar Central looking for dev posts. They have a news feed thats like a dev tracker, but there is no RSS tag on it. :/ Anyway, maybe they just don't want to have to hire people to moderate it just yet. I can understand that. They do have...
Next time I play and Elder Scrolls game I'm going to wait a few days before starting so Sean can show me the best build in the game so I can be awesome. Just like he did in Reckoning and Skyrim.
It all depends on their end game design, like in any game. They have 20 and 40 man raids and heroic dungeons. They have a LFD tool but not a LFR tool. There is only one level of difficulty for raids. There are 40 man warplots.
But what's there for non-guild oriented people? Housing? Arenas...
I know that, I was just interested in his opinion of what he didn't like about the game.
Edit: Looks like Abe responded.
I pretty much agree with all of that. Not being able to talk to the other faction is retarded for one.
As far as moving and casting, I think that there will be some...
It's very simple. I don't want sources of leaks coming from here. Everything else is open to talk about regardless of where it comes from. We obviously know who got into beta on these boards because they broadcasted it, those people just need to watch what they say.
I didn't think I needed to...
You have two big budget games in Wildstar and TESO. You have an oldie coming back in FFXIV that is pretty well revitalized. Whether you are excited for those games or not (there are pros and cons for all of them) but that is what you have to look forward to.
