I mean, with no conversion and a not optimized/fully geared build i'm getting 47k dps on a 420k dps skill. I think that's pretty good, considering it should be quite a bit more than that when properly optimized and abusing conversion.

Eh, I don't think everyone is going to be deciding to play CI tricksters just because they get some damage. ES gear is garbage from the nerfs and I think most people will still do inquisitor or something else for most builds (or at least continue the life meta).
