There was about 750 mil to 1 billion plat in circulation on Oakwynd before the dupe. There is about 15 to 18 billion plat in circulation now after the dupe and cleanup.

They really screwed this one up for sure. Was funny when they basically blamed the players for not letting them know, even when multiple people were screaming about it for almost 7 days before they did something. I would still like to know where their 2.2% number came from.

As a developer you would not want to make a eq like game these day. It would limit your player base and potential income drastically. I don't think most of us will like what they come up with and I think thats ok because most of us are to old to be the target audience.

As much as I would like to hear the reply on such topics I dont think it would have made sense to ask it. They are a dev and have to be careful talking about exploits and they generally have little idea what the customer service team is doing. The question would also likely put them in a awkward...

So far the population numbers put in between Mischief and Yelinak, but its still really early to tell long term. Mangler Mischief Oakwynd Agnarr Yelinak Aradune Coirnav

3065 online right now. Like I said its way to early to say anything about these numbers other than they are in line with most other tlp launches.

Population was about 3100 at 12am and 2550 at 3am est. These are all pretty normal numbers for opening night of a new TLP.

OOT Goblins is prob the most boring camp in all of eq.

Undead tower is terrible for experience, just terrible.

Am I remembering correct that Yelinak was 1 month classic 2 months Kunark. Where as Oakwynd will be classic 2 months and kunark 2 months.

Oakwynd hype seems to be building up decent, more than I saw for Yelinak atleast and it turned out ok. I still stick to my thought that oakwynd will be more popular than Yelinak but less than Mischief. This assumes that FTE is not a complete disaster.

I think FTE could be ok if done right. But they really shot themselves in the foot by puting it on test server 6 days before it was to be released. A major mechanic like this needed a month or so a at a minimum to work the small little details out and even then there would be issues that would...

Its clear that free trade causes an issue with every other non free trade server. The further we get away from Mischief the less the addiction of the free trade will hold. Allowing another free trade servers will just renew that addiction. IMO they should never ever do another free trade...

I am not sure Mischief brought so much more it was worth it for them though. I mean yes it brought more players but not a massive amount more than just a normal TLP. I estimate is had about 15% more players on average than just plain old Yelinak.

I am starting to think they wont ever do another Mischief 2.0 because of all the exploits it brought. Its been the most exploited server in a long long time and its still coming up with new ones weekly.

If they wanted people to play more chars then they should have made some sort of char linking mechanic across accounts. This way they could acutally use the bonuses and DB would benifit from more people actually paying for more accounts.

One of the main issues is they only do TLPs once a year. They should do one every 6 months. This way people dont put so much hope into a single yearly TLP. Also they need to always have a server in classic to pop era which is by far the most popular time frame.

I think alot will become more clear once fte is on test next week and we can see how it actually works vs how its been explained to the PR people.

With the changes, as long as FTE is not horribly buggy I am thinking now this server will only be slightly behind Mischief in average population to planes of power.

I expect them to throw some kind of bone to help ease the AE Plers outcry. But I don't see them abandoning the FTE thing.

There are several people planning to do this as a way to say they hate FTE. IMO they will suspend people caught doing this like holding NPCs hostage and locked. They should go pretty hard with 30 day suspensions early on of players caught doing this to stop it before it gets started.
