IIRC, the author was found guilty of tax evasion. I really liked season 1, while 2 was a definite downgrade in both story and animation (studio change). Hopefully season 3 is at least close to how good season 1 was.

The phone number is irrelevant, you need the recovery code that you were given when you set up steam guard. This allows you to set up on another phone and receive your login codes again.

In the pic you provided, it's not asking for a code from a text to a phone number, it's asking for a code from the steam mobile app. When you set up the app on the phone, it gave you a code you were supposed to write down in case you lost access to the phone. With that code you can set up steam...

I'll have to give it another try, I only played for a few hours before I moved on to something else. I hated the weapon decay and found the controls to be pretty awkward.
