Why aren't the episodes that funny? I like that they even threw a C.H.U.D. reference in.

    Black Widow (2020)

So yeah, just reiterating everything else, this was just okay. It was really more "Bourne" than Marvel up until the end. In fact, I'd almost say it was a pretty good spy movie up until she had to face off against the big bad at the end. Everything in that last sequence just kind of ruined it for...

Seems weird how little hype there is for this with just over a month til release. I'm really jonesing for something to play, but with how little anyone talks about this it makes me think it's going to be really trash.

Hope they're busting their asses trying to find a place. The rental market is just as cutthroat as the real estate market. It literally became an all day job for me to find us a place. I'd get up early and hit refresh on every property management company's website every 15-20 minutes. And even...

I have no idea. All I know is he begged them to be a part of it and he's in it. Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, Val Kilmer, and then all those young fuckers were for sure on site for the filming they did where I was.

Holy shit, this new agent is amazing. We've worked with 4 agents ever (buy, sell, and then our crap agent before this one), and she's by far the best. We went to see two houses today, one of which is one we asked our previous agent to see (she said the other agent was mean, and never got us...

College gets a lot of shit, mostly because it's become a "everyone needs to go" option without consideration for differing interests and abilities. But if you're of above average intelligence, your kids likely will be too, and as long as they don't get a useless degree it's still probably worth...

Looking forward to it. I remember years back when Top Gun 2 was announced and how much he wanted to be a part of it, occurring right after his throat cancer diagnosis/treatment. I was glad he was able to act again, and I wish I would've seen him on set (note that I never got to see anyone on...

That's definitely true. But I feel like people here would be talking about it, so it seems unusual that this one is so volatile. It's likely it's just my perception since I'm new to buying single stocks.

I'd say most government contracts are IDIQ. And it's not unlimited, it's capped at $3.8B. It's also not guaranteed, it could be they make the minimum order (which could be as low as 1 unit) and never order again.

I swear I read that the institutional investors weren't actually buying more real estate than previously and whatever article it was that brought it up first was basically fear-mongering. No idea where to find it again though.

PLTR back in the toilet. Again. Dropped below $23. Can't say I've seen a regular stock that has so much volatility so frequently. 16% drop in about a week, after just about that much gained in the previous week.

    Rick and Morty

I think I've decided I don't really find this show funny anymore. But at the end of an episode, I still enjoyed it. It's essentially become an absurd sci-fi show, but without much comedic aspect. Almost like a continual Love, Death and Robots. I'm just along for some shorts about some weird...

Guy I used to work with had his wife do it because they didn't want to give away 6%, and because they figured it couldn't be super hard. Guy is an engineer and I'm assuming his wife is on par intellectually. It apparently was easy enough, and she ended up quitting her job and doing it part time...

The part that's different for me is that I've been in the contracts business for a decade. Granted, it's a different type of contract (federal contracts), but I feel like I could probably manage that and negotiation on my own no problem. I need someone who knows the area, knows other agents and...

Who knows? Mostly depends on inflation. One of the reasons I'd say yes is because if interest rates rise, and they likely will sooner than the Fed wants, you can afford less house. So as a buyer, it might be good to lock that in.

Not entirely related, but we bought our house in CA in 2015. About a year afterwards we had considered buying a condo in either Orange Beach, AL or Perdido Key, FL. So I'm not super happy with our current buyer's agent. We probably fucked up by being a walk in instead of specifically requesting an agent, but she's really new at this and it's a side gig for her so I just don't think she's particularly suited to it yet (or will ever be). We've had to do most...

There was a week around 115 where I lived in the desert this year. That's not normal for June. Glad we missed it, Florida has been nice. My guess is all this weird weather is China fuckery with cloud seeding. Or maybe Bill Gates, wasn't he talking about blocking out the sun?

Right, the dark pool is so it doesn't appear as a high volume trade. That's why I asked questions like "is this normal?" I'm just not entirely sure what I'm supposed to take away from those trades. Market going up? Market going down? Neither?
  34. Gravel

    Investing General Discussion

Except from reading about the dark pools, it's essentially someone trying to buy/sell a massive amount, but because that impacts the market negatively, it's something that then goes to the public in smaller chunks. The examples are all like someone offloading 1 million shares. You can't do that...
