As a quick aside if you're doing something similar to a high MP Alk run you can set your quest to kill the spider bitch, then kill Azmo go to act 4 and kill the first two bosses that drop plans. I was finding this more fun than just Ghom last night. To more elites to kill as well.

Shame the shoulders of STR aren't dropping right now. I know if you want to get technical the absolute best shoulders for a Barb will come from the VIT plan but that feels like just way too big a crapshoot.

I don't know how much the marq plans will sell for really. They upped the drop rates on all non-legendary plans this patch. Also I've done 2 Ghom runs at MP5 and gotten two plans. But both not from Ghom >_<
