I like the show for what it is. Vampires. Making fun of the South. Random T&A. Lots of good actors making the best of really awful writing. The books are better, and now they're done.

Just read it from the start. Without the anime filler you'll be caught up in no time and it'll be a good refresher.

In the books when Ned dies his ghost appears to all his children. He leaves a message for Jon with Arya. When Arya asks him why he can't deliver it himself he says he can only appear to his children or something similar. Basically Ned != Jon's dad. The only other Starks alive at that point were...

The White Walkers are held back by the magic of the Wall. When the dragons were killed magic started to fade. Now that the Wall is near to breaking I'm sure other wards and such are failing as well, letting them roam free again.

Really enjoyed the story. Sad for Julian and Penelope, but that's part of what made it all so compelling.
