You gotta cover your own appliances. But things like roof, sidewalks, common areas, landscaping, etc is all covered by HOA fees. If you don't mind the lack of privacy associated with condos I think they are the way to go. Being a homeowner sucks!

Not really true. Yes it lowers your utilization if you're not spending more after an increase but if you have an available amount of credit that's approaching your yearly income it can make it very hard to get any new financing on anything at all. It also depends on other things like average age...
