I think his refusal to cook again is going to be part of his problem. The rest of this show is going to be Walt on the run, Walt getting revenge, and Walt dying. I just hope he gets a few more great one-liners for the record books.
It's going to be pretty hard to justify 5 tiers of advancement for each class if they don't get any new abilities. Unless they do something stupid and make a requirement like T5 monsters can only be hurt by T5 classes.
The only shards that could really be camped by newbs were the Dawnshround rockhoppers. Abysmal drop rates on a couple of them were far worse than any casual involvement.
What's the problem with middleware? SOE wants to make a great game, maybe part of that was realizing they don't have the best AI programmers in the business.
Still, I much prefer charging for shit like character slots or bag space versus being able to buy items / classes. If you're gonna do F2P, that's how it should be done.
I think Sasuke will be forgiven and he'll become the wanderer. Naruto will be hokage just like he's always wanted and he's going to usher in a new era of peace amongst all the villages. He will also at some point have a scene in a restaurant/bar with Sakura just like Jiraiya and Tsunade used to...
People hate on SOE all the time but they're still the only company that has managed to keep my interest in one single game for over a decade. I choose to believe!
Joke's on you guys. This petitioning will make SOE realize the love of classic ogres and sell an old school character skin from the store. Gotta monetize somehow.
If that does end up being the case I can't really get too upset about it. Barbarians are still humans in EQ1 no matter which way you cut it. Depends how they write the lore around the separations and growth of each culture. If they can make dark elves having different color skin and horns make...
It makes sense though if the tier unlocks are based on collections or achievements. You don't need to be an active wizard to collect all the T2 wizard armor/set, you just need to loot/make it.
I stopped using iGoogle / Netvibes when I realized it made me too efficient at surfing the web and didn't let me waste as much time at work as I wanted to.
With so much of their engine talk revolving around great lighting, you can bet your ass we'll see some dark caves like that. Gotta be able to show off some great torch lighting tech somewhere!
I don't think people are giving the AI enough credit. If it works as advertised they can make extremely smart mobs. Like FF12 gambits, each tier down they could add more condition slots for more complex AI.
My point was, if you can tell someone's skill level from a game in which 1ms counts but the control scheme is always static, it should be extremely easy to weed out the mouth breathers in a game that has 40 classes and hundreds* of abilities.
Because you have to accomplish ______ to gain _______ and get more powerful, obviously that the is the same as camping in a room for 10 hours grinding exp for arbitrary survivability and skill increases.
The difference is between someone that plays a game to be a character and enjoy the world...
Easiest way of handling it would be to have global loot tables for procedurally generated content based on tier. Problem solved.
