    The D&D thread

as a DM i think anytime you have a player that wants to have side conversations to betray the party, you need to stop and have a conversation. there absolutely is a time and a place for inter-CHARACTER drama, but the PLAYERS shouldn't be completely blindsided. don't get me wrong, there's a game...

Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)

This is my exact sentiment as well. About halfway through the movie I found myself not really all that interested, but I don't really know why. Acting was great, story was good... I just was counting the minutes until the end

Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) (2020)

at this point the only way to fight back is to do the same right back to them. we can say all we want that spider-man isn't gay. black mask isn't gay. black canary ISN'T BLACK. but until we take something they love and make it unrecognizable nothing's going to change. so let's make a 50 shades...

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (From the creator of Symphony of the Night)

    John Wick: Chapter 3 (2019)

yeah, it's weird... i noticed it at his e3 appearance, and then in john wick 3, but he's seems to have become somewhat pigeon toed. maybe he's always had it and it's just become more pronounced in his old age, or maybe something happened and it's affected his overall agility... but even just...

best money farming is getting the augment luck shard maxed and dashing through candles. there's a great spot in oriental sorcery lab. from the teleportation room, go to the right, then the take the top right exit. should be a small room with 2 candles in it. slap on the whatever luck items you...

star metal, i think is mostly fine? though it's frustrating when you find a bugged node that can't be mined... i DO think it's silly that there are several tiers of materials at the end game, that all require star metal, but the actual "star metal" items are flat out better. i haven't played in...

    Shazam! (2019)

i didn't either until recently. i didn't think a single thing about it when i was younger, i thought the chick was hot and was happy for him. then i got older and started paying attention to conspiracy theories about hollywood grooming the public to accept adults having sex with teens and... well.

    Pathfinder: Kingmaker

i've talked about it in the d&d thread but alignment is A LOT more nuanced than what people give it credit for. people think lawful means that you always follow every law, you never lie, and you never go back on your word. you respect law for law's sake. in some cases that can be true and that's...

    Shazam! (2019)

no there's something to that argument. it's rated pg-13, but i don't think that's the right demographic for most of the film. there are a couple of somewhat mature concepts here and there, but generally it comes across as saturday morning cartoon. don't get me wrong, i enjoyed it, and i...

    The Mandalorian

honestly, there's more money in tv now anyways, i think. 150 million for a season of tv is still less than what they'd pay for a movie. i think half a decade ago, none of the higher ups were looking at tv for star wars because it made so much in the big screen, but the IP has been pretty hurt...

    John Wick: Chapter 3 (2019)

the first one is special because it's an original IP. it's somewhat derivative of course, but it wasn't a remake or a retelling or anything. the second one was interesting because it opened up more of the world that the first one created with the high table and whatnot. the third one was still...

I think the issue is that the "if I like it ill pay for it" argument sounds an awful lot like "I read Playboy for the article." Yeah, I mean there's plenty of people who do that but it always sounds disingenuous

    The Little Mermaid (2023)

It's not like beauty and the beast revitalized Emma Watson's career, or like Aladdin did anything for the people in that movie. I can think of several reasons why Chloe grace Moretz dropped out and we've been discussing them in this thread

marvel was pushing captain marvel hard for several years, but no one actually LIKED any of the stuff she was showing up in. i'm one of the only people i know that liked carol danvers and even i know her only real contribution to the world of comics is giving rogue her powers.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (From the creator of Symphony of the Night)

it definitely felt longer from R to L, but the event happened in different places for me. i think it's just that the seat is on the left side of the train so when you come from the left, you just kill a ninja or two and you're there. whereas coming from the right, you have to go through the...

    The Witcher

i feel like they are trying to be some blend of period fantasy. that NEVER works and just makes everything look cheap. it looks like a direct to video d&d movie. say what you want about the story of game of thrones, the costuming was always excellent and really should be the bar for anything...

they are all the same inputs, just with different weapon types. i haven't seen a comprehensive list outside of the game. just remember that mastering a technique allows it to be used with all weapons of it's type. the only exception seems to be the bandit blade, as you can't master that technique

    Sports Entertainment

i've honestly never enjoyed death matches. professional wrestling is fun because it's high impact absurdity. no where else are you going to see 15 different kinds of suplexes, high rope shenanigans and creatively entangled submission holds. i don't like mma because it's just modern gladiatorial...

yeah, it definitely the least flashy shard out there, but it's extremely effective. i've also been using riga storaema recently. it seems to be a low drop from one of the giant cats that puts out a column of flame. if you rank it up a little it starts putting out 4 or 5 columns that do some nice...

the movie was pretty meh. it wasn't terrible or anything but nothing really outstanding either. that being said i'd be totally up for a brightburn universe where the bad guys just keep winning. the ending credits had a little montage of what seemed like other supervillains showing up... have an...

vinke basically all but confirmed that minsc and boo are going to be in it in some form. there isn't a CLEAR answer how, but general consensus is that they got turned to stone at some point and then un-turned to stone sometime "recently" which would explain why they're still around 100+ years later.

i didn't really use too many shard abilities until a bit later in the game. the tentacles are nice damage, but they use so much mana early on. once i got the flying daggers, i changed my tune. they do real good damage and they are cheap so you can spam them, especially later on when you get some...
