Overall MoP has engaged me more than Cata. Monk class, expanded LFR, and side distractions like pets and rare mob hunting/Lei Shen treasure run gets me to log in. Cata didn't have much to do unless you did progression raiding at cap.

It sounds like Martin writes like I do: He churns out the fun stuff/high motivation stuff, then gets bogged down when he has to attend to the less interesting stuff that is still required for the story or a character.

Don't forget the WoW alpha that was initially announced ended up being very different than the final product. I imagine they want to have something fairly solid in place before they pull the curtain off.

A few issues I see with casual engagement issues: 1) Long DPS queues. Not sure what the work around could be, but let's say 30-60min average queue wait time + 40m-1.5hr LFR clear time means even a casual DPS will have to invest close to 2 hrs of time just to run a single raid. 2) Dailies...

There are ratings and also actor contracts. If you get some core actor saying "wtf, I want off the show!", their choices are either recast (risky to the point of almost being implausible if they have done a ton of seasons), kill them off (which is a problem if they aren't killed in the book)...

Book 4 and 5 are supposedly going to be jumbled together for the seasons that cover them, which makes sense. But that only gives them 3 more seasons before they hit a wall (pun lol). Assuming the next book is out by then and depending on the content, then you maybe have 1 or 2 seasons there...

The fact Arya didn't destroy Needle shows that she doesn't want to fully invest herself in the Faceless (at the cost of divesting herself). I might be concerned if she ends up destroying it, though.

I don't think the actress who plays Shae could have sold it. However, Sansa's full on sob at the end of the episode pretty much told you all you need to know.
