I think it's still fun and they just put out a massive update that brought everything in line for more cohesive gameplay which I think improved the game but some disagree. There is still nothing like this out there and it's my go to arcade shooter if I want some fun FPS action.

Correct, you have to unlock them with Hero Points. If you have enough banked you can unlock them all.

Do you not have an 80 boost? You can revert it anytime you want and swap around so you can fully experience it. Mesmer is by far the most complicated to play, give it a shot.

I switched from Sword/Dagger to Dagger/Dagger on the weaver and went with a condi/toughness build. I'm slaying harpies like crazy and the spells seem more cohesive with much more survivability.
