A QB being good enough to not be an active hindrance to your team is a big deal. You can still win that way with a decent supporting cast, but it's real hard to win if your QB is a shitbird.

The problem with the new one is the most recent ones are still early on in the expansions. The current batch will be in PoP when the new one supposedly is released which seems really early to me, and will just lead to the population being spread all over. Also not sure how I'd feel about doing...

Things that let you bypass mana for effects particularly mana and card draw tend to end up problematic. Phyrexian mana, Delve, Affinity, Necropotence etc. Energy is kind of scary for the same reason, although it hasn't been totally absurd other than possibly Marvel, but that doesn't bother me...
