I got through chapter 6, returned it to RedBox, and then watched a stream / read a synopsis of the ending to see if my deductions about the plotline were on point or not. I'm glad I played it, but I'm also glad I only spent $3 on it.

There is definitely an endorphin sort of thing going on with the stuff you can build. I took great pride when I finished the road in chapter 3 (plus a ton of likes from people using it).

There are some urban concrete decay to navigate but up through where I am its been pretty much Mars landscape as a rule. Hence my comment about how amazing roads are once you start building them.

I think we are meant to think that the world got shattered by the whatever apocalypse that kicked all this off...hence the giant sea in the middle of the country. But yeah given that I can drive from Ohio to Texas in about 4 mins I think any direct literal mapping is likely out the window.

I had the game all sorted out, build roads and support network, gather stuff, make deliveries, avoid BTs and all was sensible and normal if a bit dull. Then I got to Chapter 4.

So far the game has made it very clear that roads are good. I don't know that I'm really enjoying it, however, so much as persisting through it.

Okay a couple hours in and this thing is trippy as fuck. I don't even feel like its a game yet.

Ive not read the books nor seen the Golden Compass so this is all brand new to me. I'm enjoying it quite a lot so far. I think X-23 was a good choice for the character.

Season 4 is out now. Some interesting foreshadowing in the modifications for the opening credits. Glimmer's new look is much more mature and Scorpia is looking like she's second guessing her role in the Horde.

I always forget about Redbox... despite walking past the damn things all the time.

The frame rate thing is absolutely genius in my view. Its sort of a brain hack that allows for pretty amazing action segments as your brain gets tricked into interpolating frames early on when things are fairly static and is thus able to react with more agility once things start moving.

I feel like this is an Xbone game for me for the 4K realness on a big screen.

For an expansion about going to the lands of the dead this seems very underwhelming. Does this mean Sylvanas is the big bad for release and then whatever she's allied with is the later one? With no new classes or races it feels very formulaic. I agree that it feels much more akin to the EQ2...

The all-hands meeting on Monday was amazing in that soooo many internal people were hopping mad over this and yet the CEO was stiff-arming questions and sliding around complaints like a goddamn figure skater. That's really the only true skill for a CEO.

Second play through?? Good lord I think I spent 10 hours on Edgewater alone just exploring all the nooks and crannies and then giggling like a schoolgirl at all the easter eggs.

She is just the right level of droll. Hell much of the game had me in stitches, I think the writers must be on the same wavelength of sarcasm + absurdity that I operate on.
