I think MTG has settled into 3.5 expansions a year, 1 new expansion cycle of 3 every year, and a new core set every other year. Pokemon looks like 4 a year. Yugioh is 4 a year. *edit* Seeing as how it's Blizzard, I think we'd be lucky to get 1 new set of cards a year.

That may be where WoW is now, but that's not where WoW was during Vanilla and TBC. It wasn't until Wrath that the hardcore nerf it to casual trend really took root.
