bummer. I'd be sending that back for sure. I always make sure the guitars I buy have a hard/soft case with them. The big box with Styrofoam peanuts around the case is how mine show up. Annoying to deal with those freaking peanuts.

Nice, I did some reading on mandolins and I can say with confidence I could never learn to play one. Just the string tuning would befuddle me. It would be like switching to left hand and playing like Jimi Hendrix essentially. Guitars go E > A > D > G whereas mandolins go G > D > A > E

I din't think it something to worry about anymore. My LG has a pixel refresher that you can run after long periods of use. It will also autorun when you turn it off I'm pretty sure.

The tube screamer for sure. I'm not familiar enough with the Blues Driver to say. Another to consider is a Strymon Sunset if your budget would allow for it. I haven't bought it yet but it is pretty high on my list of future purchases. JHS Bonsai is another good one but again costs more.

It's a phreds I bought back when they were first getting started. They didn't have the options they do now so once I got it and liked how it played I put in seymour duncan '59's and all new shielded wiring. It's awesome for $850 or so.
