Damn, thought about tossing some in when I saw last night it was around $15. Figured I didn't wanna gamble on another short squeeze though.

Wife showed me that this morning. And then yesterday a video of a hammerhead attacking a stingray in Orange Beach. Nature is a scary motherfucker. And considering we were at Pensacola Beach with the dog the other day, and visiting the inlaws in Orange Beach this weekend, shit hits close to home.

Been an extremely quiet year for hurricanes. Or at least, I think so (2nd summer living in FL). I keep waiting for something to kick up in the Gulf so I can go surfing, but there hasn't been anything this year.

Which is why most people are better buying an index. Just because you get it right once doesn't mean you know what's going to happen. Maybe there's a big crash coming, or maybe we've already seen the bottom.

We got like $700 or so from a diamond settlement a while back, from my wife's wedding rings. Also got like $30 from the milk settlement! I think my wife also got maybe $200 from some settlement in Illinois against Facebook in the last year.

    The Sandman

You know why it's hard? Because you have people saying "c'mon, it's just a little woke, watch it anyway." That just feeds the beast. Every time you watch this crap, you get more of it because the people with money aren't losing it.

What We Do in the Shadows

"The House Mate" was also pretty good. "He's relentless in love, he's relenteless in bed He's Nandor the Relentless He wears all sorts of capes He's not got much in his head He's Nandor the Relentless"

Why does it only have to be the post credit crap that ties movies together? Isn't that the complaint? The actual movies themselves have nothing to do with anything related.

    She-Hulk

The critique is because even if the movies were somewhat shitty, it might be redeemable if it was building into a larger picture. But they're both shitty and aimless, so it doesn't even have that going for it. No Way Home was fine. It's only good because of the cameos. Take that out and it's...

    She-Hulk

Wow, almost like this franchise is now just a directionless pile of dog shit. They've hired people who don't have any other credits to direct, pigeonholed in random diversity hires, and ignored pretty much everything that made Marvel successful previously. I'd say they're in a worse spot than...

We're at the same spot we were back in June. The market has a long way to go. It's about 14% down from the start of the year, although that lines up pretty much with the ATH.

    Marvel Universe stuff

This is one where his origin story really just stops working the further we get from the comic in time. Eventually anything connected to WWII and the suspension of disbelief becomes too much because he ends up being 150 years old. Captain America only worked because he was frozen.

Seems like if it were a case of an insider liquidating before the market crash, he would've done so back in December/January, not after the market is down 14-20%.

We've been rewatching old shows, before woke killed everything; Office, Parks and Rec, Scrubs, etc. All good shows and I can watch The Office over and over and it never stops being funny.

Well this ended like a wet fart. Felt like there was potential for it to be super interesting, and then...it just kind of ended on a whimper? Like they just relied on what actually happened to wrap it all up. Or burned through all their episodes setting it up, realized they only had 6 episodes...

Our alternative station at the time WHFS, used to hold a massive concert called the HFStival (started the year before Lollapalooza). I went three years, starting when I was 12. 94 was memorable for the mud. Apparently 99 for the fires. I wonder if the PPV element is why we don't remember it. It was kind of segregated off. Still seems like I would've remembered the fires and rioting and shit from the nes afterwards, but nope.

Didn't watch the HBO documentary for comparison, but the Woodstock 99 series was pretty crazy. Neither my wife nor I really remember it at all which is strange. Kind of surprised, but my wife just said she didn't want to renew. Apparently our original 3 year sub (for $160ish or whatever it was) ends in a few months. Home buying thread

Don't forget that rents are still astronomical compared to mortgages. I'd say there's probably a faction in this country of renters looking to buy just to save money that never existed before. Rents in my area are like 75% more than what the mortgage payment (with tax and insurance) would be.

Demand is up, potentially (and probably likely), because the cost of borrowing is significantly lower than inflation. Everyone is pulling buying forward because it's cheaper to do so than to wait a year and eat the inflation cost on top of it. It's why I keep repeating that inflation begets...
