    Curious why you don't trust the cloud based solutions? Pretty sure they will out last any drive solution you can come up with. Your pretty much stuck with hard drives or writable media.

    My model didn't have the dual GPUs so I put in a ssd in then pulled out the burner and put the 1tb there. Edit the ssd isn't really an ssd, the drive has a 24 GB ssd it uses as a cache to speed it up. Basically one of these...

    I popped in an SSD to my Lenovo pretty much as soon as I got it. Quite easy to do and I imagine saves you money by going that way.
