Man, I was so good about going in blind and then today's launch trailer dropped. I wasn't expecting a bunch in it other than to hype up release so I watched it. They showed a bunch of what i would assume are spoilers. Crap. Throwing my phone away until Friday now.

Weapons are finally getting numbers next to the bars for stats, so no more needs to look things up online to see true numbers. Also exotic primaries are getting a 40% damage buff. Yum

Is that the frog thing or whatever? Pretty sure you’re supposed to come back later. Normal progression monsters aren’t that hard. The rest of the game is pretty easy if you go in order.

With my bug the shaman actually died and was laying on the ground or whatever. He wasn’t attacking me and I couldn’t target him or anything like that. He was dead, but the combat screen never went away, even after the dot wore off.

Yeah I wasn’t worried about the dot part (although I didn’t know of it alway hangs i combat till dots wear off or if they just keep ticking on you while you walk down the dungeon hallways since it was my first encounter with a mob that dots me) it was more that combat never ended and I was stuck.

just had a bug. Was fighting an orc shaman in a level 4 dungeon he put scourage dot on me and then he died shortly after. Combat didn’t end and I kept getting dot ticked for damage. The dot did eventually weat off but combat didn’t end and I couldn’t do anything. Had to exit back to town.

Try turning off HDMI link. Some other device going to sleep/off is triggering your ps5 to go to sleep too, probably.

Tried it out. No bugs encountered so far. Fun game and I like how you left some of the EQ sounds in. Nostalgia hits pretty hard. When in dungeons and walking down hallways where you can see static mobs standing in the way, is there a way to see what level a mob is before you run into him to...

Dang that’s a nice looking controller with back buttons and everything, but I’d be hard pressed to pay almost 50% of a console’s price on a single controller. Guess I’m too much of a casual gamer these days.

I figured that was probably the end of it. Just seems unusual to max everything out so early, and I wasn’t even trying that hard to hunt down every resource in each level.

So weird that you gain “exp” from battles, but then max out all your characters barely half way through the game. Same with upgrade currency. I bought all the upgrades about the same time I stopped gaining battle experience points, so now all the fights and currency hunting are pretty pointless...

PSN has this for $20 this week. Worthwhile to give it a go on the ps5? No idea if it has been updated to 4k/60 on the 5. I’ve never played it before, but enjoyed RDR1 well enough.

Got it for $30 a few days ago and am probably about 10 hours in so far. Such a great game. I feel like I’m playing a movie. So much banter and dialogue. It’s never quiet. I’m pleasantly surprised!

Isn’t DQ1 (DW) the game that came free with a Nintendo Power subscription back in the day? Man, that was the best surprise as a kid getting a free nes game with my magazine one summer and I’ve been hooked on DQ/FF/RPGs in general ever since.

I use the pulse headset, but you’d be surprised how well the controller works for voice chat for casual stuff or in a pinch.
