Given Chip's philosophy only way they keep him fresh is if he splits time quite a bit (probably a good thing). I'm not sure we can chalk it all up to work load, either. Eventually teams started focusing more on stopping him as their #1 priority.

Don't disagree with you, but I'd say one of those guys is far more likely to have a good season again this year than Murray who had over 400 touches total, and having to play behind a new (and not as good) O line.

There were 7 RB's last year that averaged as many or more yards/carry as DMM with at least 200+ carries. Don't get me wrong, Murray is a very good RB. It's not like the Eagles got younger at the position though going from McCoy to Murray...and that many touches last year? Expect at least...
