Oxyferns are fine, especially on Verdante where you just have to dip over into a marsh to get some algae. I didn't build an electrolyzer based oxygen module for something like 200 turns on my Verdante playthrough.

Canonically they are all alive and have just overthrown the Imperial occupation of Mandalore like a year or so before the Battle of Yavin. This is from 2018 during final season of Rebels.

Mandalorian culture is thousands of years old. They've kicked ass and gotten their asses kicked many times throughout the history of the galaxy. The show takes place in 9 ABY, which means it's only 11 or so years post-Rebels, and the take off your helmet culture was alive and well at that time...

Think thats two or three different sources saying they blew up the Falcon and killed off all the remaining OT characters, and I don't see how you just cut that out of the movie without leaving a giant gaping hole that needs reshoots to fix. This may actually end up being worse than Episode 8.
