Yes, they are a measurable advantage. However, for Legends, they shouldn’t really matter except for people without patience, which is weird in EQ where it’s deliberately slow and everyone knows it.

The XP pot thing for EQL: sort of a non-issue since we can raid in our own instances with friends and it’s not a sweaty race to the boss.

Pretty gloomy outlooks, but valid. Will this version be interesting enough to keep people engaged and have enough content released on a good cadence to retain? 50/50. I hope so, as this would be my “last hurrah” for EQ and I’d like it to be quality and memorable if I do it.

Dunno. All races and classes should be available from day one. Maybe it’s because currently you can only have one character per server and to unlock more you have to do achievements or w/e?

Well of course not. But there are hundreds of thousands of videos not like that which are probably interesting.

Up front plus sub is a dead model, IMO. They aren’t going to get many people to do that. I’d do a box cost, but the subscription part turns me off, a lot. That said, I’d like to complete a few Kunark epic quests, run Hate and Fear again, and socialize with FOH peeps.

Yeah they are serious about it. We were there this January and there were ropes off areas of beaches for seals and turtles. You go yelled at if you even touched the ropes.

I’m jonesing for an EQ play this year. Vanilla through Velios. No bullshit boxing. No XP pots or cash shop advantages. But, I know deep down there’s no going home again. That experience just isnt available…
