I'd just be weary of the feasibility to keep up swarm kiting. The higher level you get, you run into exponentially more PVP. Swarm kiting takes quite a while to down the packs of mobs and you are one PK root or snare away from eating an XP death.

Well since it is happening in safe mode, it's far likely it is hardware related. You need to check out your memory, not just your HD. You can either run something like Memtest or the old way of removing all but 1 stick at a time until you find the culprit.
