I'm kind of a fan of picking a head coach from a division 1 school but not the upper most tier. It worked for LSU with Saban and Miles who were from well known programs but not top 15 schools which seems to be what people think they can hire nowdays.

I can't speak for the IT industry but they contact me often in my industry. I haven't found them to be very knowledgable about the job they are trying to place you in or contact you for. They seem to go off a list of keywords as well. Guess it just depends.
