Watch the video comparison and the DOF effect is much cooler as it focuses in on the car and then fades back out when they start racing.

DOF is used to focus on the actual car in the race-start scenes. It's definitely not a negative, as far as the PS4 screens go. No clue why the Xbone version isn't doing it as well. The actual racing looks almost identical on the two systems, as far as I can tell.

AC3 on PS3 was very buggy for me. Lots of glitches, etc. Connor was complete uninteresting as a protagonist as well, in my opinion. I played through AC2 and it kept my attention the entire way through. AC3 I left by the wayside after only a few hours in.
