You know you're getting old when.....

When you first get progressives you will find you have to turn your head a lot to keep your eyes within the viewing area of the lenses. You can’t keep your head still and shift your eyes to the side to see something clearly on your left, for instance. You need to turn your head in that...

    Michael (2025)

Saw this yesterday. The guy did a phenomenal job of portraying Michael Jackson and the movie was well crafted, with a crescendo up until the end. I was in a small but modern theater and although it didn’t have the high tech vibrating seats, the place still shook. It was a blast. Would recommend.

    Pressure

Saw this today. Enjoyed it. Well paced, interesting story. Brendan Fraser was heavier than I the Eisenhower I remember but he played the part well. Definitely a more likeable character than G.C.Scott's Patton. Except for Montgomery, I wasn't familiar with the other historical figures. The two...

    Whats rustling your jimmies?

Went through this many years ago with my daughter over handwriting and the new way to form letters. I’m convinced it was merely a way to drive a wedge between her and me; her teacher was right and her mom and I were wrong.

    Whats rustling your jimmies?

Payback. 99% of the drivers in that town were tourists and they constantly made life miserable for full time residents. Double parking, driving below the speed limit, sudden stops for sightseeing, etc. This was an opportunity to fuck with them. That’s all.

    Car ?'s

Speaking of Jeeps, my new to me $3500 Jeep took a dump getting on the freeway a few days ago with some loud bangs and I had to limp back home. CEL got lit so I read the codes. Misfire on cylinder 2, bad coil circuit in cylinders 1,2,3,5&6. Five coils don't suddenly fail so I pull the plug on...

No kidding. That front timing cover job was quoted at $1900. I hear you except once upon a time I had a 1993 Grand Cherokee that was very reliable. I know Jeeps/Chrysler are not known for that.

    What vehicle do you drive?

My wife has always preferred a manual transmission. It's a long story but the gist of it is, I inherited her Hyundai Accent 6-speed after she got her present FIAT 500 5 speed. I don't like manual transmissions. Yeah, I can drive one, I just don't like to. So, I bought this. It's a 2005 Jeep...

Thinking about buying a vacuum sealer – beginner advice needed

Not sure what you're asking. We store left-overs or things we've made a bunch of for later use. You can store these items in regular plastic bags if you're going to use them in a day or two, but if you're going to freeze them for a long time, they will last longer in Foodsaver bags because...

Thinking about buying a vacuum sealer – beginner advice needed

We've used the FoodSaver brand for years. I think we get a new one every 10 years or so. We're on our third one; they don't last forever. However, our current one is marketed more towards hunters and is called a GameSaver. It's still made by Foodsaver but seems a little more robust. It has...
