    World of Warcraft: Current Year

I happen to be an old school dwarf (i.e. I had detect treasure active when the patch hit), so I have almost all of them pinned on Gathermate. Outside of that, don't think you can track them.

They probably still work. The real interest in timewalking gear, from what I see, is that the downleveling of your gear doesn't affect socketed gems, enchants or procs; just the ilvl of the item itself.

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

Seems still completely random to me. The problem of shipyard vs garrison is that the number of missions is a lot lower and their respawn times are so long that you get hugely magnified random clumping of missions.

It's almost at the end of page 2 now (which means someone is going to necro it soon). It dies when the hope really dies, and in EQ, you always have a cleric with a sprinkler around to rez you.

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

Even with science. A few years ago, I came across the story ofthis guywho can simultaneously be a PhD in paleontology, with a dissertation on fossil dinosaurs extinct for 66 million years and be a Young Earth Creationist who thinks the Earth is 6 thousand years old.

Yes it does. Since they added the tech (I think during MoP? That's where warforged appeared, right?), every item can be ilvl-adjusted to whatever. That's how every timewalking dungeon drops items adjusted to your current level while downleveling you. However, they've gone the reverse for...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

At Inserm (the french NIH), you cannot qualify as a scientific researcher unless you hold a PhD or equivalent. If you don't, you get shuffled onto the "technician and engineer" designation (even if you sometimes do the same kind of work and publish more papers). Main difference: career...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

The minimum qualification for the name of "scientist" would be a non-honorary PhD in a science-based discipline. Which, yea, Bill Nye doesn't have. He's a science speaker, not a scientist. Doesn't stop him from being more knowledgeable than Sarah, since they both hold Bachelor's, but her is...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

That's because, in a WoW-type game, you need a clear objective that progresses something (your craft skill bar, your ilvl, your level, your faction, your gold pile, whatever). I think that what people hated in early WoD isn't the lack of dailies. There were dailies, they were just disguised...

Where are the Euro style MMORPGs lately?

So basically, you're looking for: - A Dungeons&Dragons classical interpretation (or their remote descendants) - With a focus on strategical/tactical combat rather than action combat - And, what? Solo? (you seemed to imply solo camping and harvesting) Then there's nothing. Probably not...

So, they're not confident they can drag each season for a full 10 episodes, yet they can't wrap everything in S7 because GRMM won't have even the outline of book 7 at all in time...

It's dailies without the "!" quest hub. And the map tells you where to go to auto-pick since you don't have the quest giver. I saw an interesting comment on MMOchamp about the difference between us old fucks and the youngsters, and how it relates to this new model. We old fucks expect someone...

From this thread, I take it I should watch it... the premise read as Harry Potter as a college student screwup, which didn't sound very interesting, but all I'm seeing is people saying good things about the show.

There's ablue postthat explicitly says that the 12h rotation is for beta testing, and the real rotation is weekly. Basically, every week, you are going to have a combo of specific affixes; everyone is going to have the same combo for that week, and the combos rotate on a fixed basis. You...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

You don't appear to have lots of missions and lots of followers (see trait which increase the number of Tiger monks by only 2), there's this fatigue alluded which prevents followers from doing 2 missions per day, and you don't have buildings to manage (bodyguard is baked in, other stuff is in...

You're thinking of stellar blackholes (i.e. black holes created from stars). Those are galactic black holes, whose formation is still relatively mysterious, but who almost certainly appear along their galaxies, or maybe before. Fun bit: The black hole Gargantua in Interstellar is one such...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

There doesn't seem to be any building and similar stuff to set and maintain, the only thing I've seen mentioned that's upgradable is the Artifact forge. Seem it's more of a location where you have a bunch of followers hanging around (and it's a shared space, not a personal instance), and you...

Same experience here. Although by PoP I was no longer on Tunare but playing on Ubisoft-run Sebilis, there wasn't any options to get group-level flags beyond the Valor flag in Justice. Everything else? Raid. Group shortcut opened later, but you still had to do the raids, because the elemental...

From what you hear on the patch notes and CM posts, they should have locked down more or less "how" they want those classes to play. They're going to tweak the numbers, but not the dynamics. (which is why the "June 30" sounds possible. Mildly surprising, but possible)

As people surmised, there's probably all kind of assumptions hard-coded (and undocumented) in the game. You could probably get away with not touching any of the PvP-related stuff. Meaning you could still only attack the opposite faction in pvp, the tower/etc. stuff would work the same, and...

FTFY There's two parts to that movie. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

The intro to Batman is ok. You all know his origin in detail, what it does establishes the tone ofthisBatman in a couple minutes and the rest of the origin story is shoved under the rug. The into of the Justice League is completely wrong. When you realize that you could entirely cut the...

Because that works? The big problem if you have multiple persons working on the same zone at the same time is that you have to spend quite a lot of time stitching the entire zone back together. Every time you rework a bit of the zone (and it usually happens a few times), you have to spend a lot...

Nope, slightly different warpage. Alcubierre's works by warping space-timearoundyour ship, not inside your drive, and having the local flat space-time "slide" along that warp. That's why it can go FTL, while this gravity drive can't. Of course, Alcubierre's drive has good and strong math...

    The Astronomy Thread

Well, in my wild-ass imagination, the space-time inside of the resonant cavity gets warped (curved), and thus, because classic relativistic gravity is basically acceleration based on space-time curvature, you get some acceleration of the mass in that warp. If the warp is symmetric, but the...

    The Astronomy Thread

Given that nobody has any idea how the emDrive can work, why wouldn't it work by warping spacetime asymetrically and thus generating some acceleration (which, in my absolutely layman opinion, sounds mildly less impossible than providing action without reaction). But yea, at the moment, it's...
