Haven't played this in about a year, but I never had any real issues with queues while being dps. Nobody gave me grief for watching the cut scenes (first time through) either. I still felt bad about it though. Most players were understanding.

EQ had the same issues. Guild I was in ruled the server for years. Main was an SK. Had a box shaman that use to get tells all the time asking me how I could stand to play with someone from THAT guild. Lol, they didn't realize it was just a box. Guild was cool too. Good people, just driven.

If you play WvW or PvP there are some pretty good ways to get Ascended armor there also. Choose your stats. Plus those ascended pieces are used to make legendary armor. That takes a lot of time though. Worth looking into if you enjoy either of those modes.

I just did a bunch of Silverwastes runs a few weekends ago (needed shovels for the guild hall). The event / chest farm is still popular on the weekends and there is usually one or two maps doing them. Use the LFG tool to find a taxi to the map everyone is on.

Loved the story quests, but hated slogging through the side quests to get to the next portion of the story. I should have finished my toon's story quests when they had that 10x xp story quest thing going on a few years back. Might try again some time but it will require a serious bout of boredom.

Aye those were good perks. I played a human tank so didn't get to use them. Spinning in place whoohoo. And they weren't absolutely necessary. Did very well without them. Unfortunately, most mmos after EQ didn't give big races any perks.
