Not at all. Played both games and enjoyed them. EQ more, but it was my first mmo. But they are were very similar when Vanilla WoW came out, Much more so than the competition.

WoW and EQ are inbred cousins compared to other mmos. WoW is just younger and had the advantage of modern medicine that has changed it over time. EQ was thrown into the back shed and forgotten.

BnS and BDO have much better combat. But GW2's not bad. GW2 has better RvR imo (except when they do stupid things like HoT) and almost zero grinding if you want to just PvP or RvR. There are certainly better games than GW2 depending on what you want to do, but unfortunately the grind always...

Cool. Love my sorc, but blader was my original class choice. Been doing all the crafting, trading, worker stuff lately. Want to get that out of the way and just focus on leveling the blader when it shows up.

Truly wish I had the time to play like in old EQ days. I usually hate grinding but this game somehow keeps it somewhat enjoyable. Just don't have the time to keep up anymore. They say they are looking into ways to allow new players to catch up.

Didn't watch the stream but read many of the comments here and just that has me intrigued. Black Desert has many throwback game mechanics that remind me of EQ and I love it. There is a market for this kind of game, even if the new "twitter kids" don't get it.

Yeah. Wiz / ranger probably have a much easier time mass aoe'ing. On sorc it's not too bad but you still have to get the slow mobs grouped up enough to do the cone damage. Slows things down a bit and gives the Wiz gankers time to steal the mobs. On pure melee, I can see it being worse.

It's probably not a lie. I admit to being pulled in by the promise of being 50 in 15 hours. And since every recent mmo has been a crappy copy of the last theme park, that was a killer selling point. But this game has a way of sidetracking me to do stuff that I haven't enjoyed since EQ days...

The plus side of rerolling is that you can twink out your alt pretty well with gear from your high level toon. So the grind will go much quicker. But haven't tried it yet. Still like my sorc. Probably wait for blader / ninja before doing another toon.

If a leveling guide says to go there, check it out. But if it's crowded / camped then move to the same mobs but a ways away (outside of caves, etc). Which is usually much less crowded. There are a ton of mobs everywhere, the guides point to the lemming spot. You can usually find a good spot that...
