It's not Ng+ In the traditional way It's go back in time with attributes from your last save to the point you left access to the open world so you can finish up quests and keep reliving the style of game that made chapter 3 20'hours.

Your not wrong, but the fact that the second part is not even a 5 min cut scene and the first part is a 2 hour movie makes the whole story a mess...no idea what the char motivations are....this is just bad story telling.

instead of button mashing you hold down O and use the stick for a lot of it with the occasional Triangle. IT takes some getting used to, i still bash the O and remind myself you can just hold it down. I find the combat refreshing but it might get old as i get deeper into the game. about 12...
