A Song of Ice and Fire (Released Spoilers)

I think this stuff was originally intended to be more high fantasy, then he got lost in the weeds with the political shit. Also, there's a lot more than just dragons for high fantasy elements.

A Song of Ice and Fire (Released Spoilers)

It certainly existed, but he was a big part of how it became mainstream and while it isn't directly derivative, there's definitely a line of influence that a lot of his influences are.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight

All of these novellas are like 100 pages and take like 2 hours to read. They'd have to add A LOT of random shit to make the show longer. This season already had a bunch of extra new shit, some that was good and some that might be the worst parts of this generally excellent show.

Her trying to be some kind of badass and doing some hoodrat shit and getting some hoodrat consequences was good as far as I was concerned.

    The Mandalorian & Grogu (2026)

I'm not sure anyone is particularly excited about this thing. I mean it could be the best Disney movie of the franchise but that's a pretty low bar with Rogue One? probably the current leader.

Unlimited proxies is pretty wild. We used to regularly have some 10 proxy legacy events and your proxies had to be semidecent and not just sharpied swamps. This was also like 8-10 years ago.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight

Maekar is the 4th son of Daeron the Good (the current king in this timeline), Aegon (Egg) is his 4th son. Baelor is Heir and he has a son who as of now is now Heir. Egg is currently like 10th in line or some shit. So lots of people die and don't breed for it to happen. His reign includes a...

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight

There's a million what ifs that stem from this event. It was supposed to be some shitty little tournament for some random lord's daughter's birthday and turned into this shit. He clearly knows Aerion sucks, but I'm sure he has hopes of fixing him, like he does with Daeron. He's way more...

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight

Aerion and Dunk were scrapping and he was trying to get to them, Baelor and Lyonel were in the way.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight

This show is so good. I really liked how they basically showed his lack of relative skill but huge strength and perseverance. The Baelor thing was definitely not medically accurate, but it had the impact that they wanted.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight

I mean, there's definitely stuff left out and some stuff that's added specifically for the show, but it's very faithfully adapted compared to most adaptations. Kind of bummed that there wasn't more of the common people gassing up Dunk towards the end.

    Masters of the Universe (2026)

I didn't hate Leto in 2049, but his track record is so bad. Not sure I'd have very high expectations either way though.

The entire book that the show is based on takes a couple of hours to read. It's not exactly a long story.

You judge people by how they compare to their peers in era. You then also have a section of the hall that talks about the era and gives it context. Let people decide what that means for themselves.

That's a big part of it. Also, the whole putting it before the Superbowl was the worst idea as if the 2 best teams wouldn't have players that should be in the game.

2025-2026 NFL Season Thread - God hates the Chargers

I always wondered if an alternate immediately declines do they still get listed or do they just get ignored and someone else gets selected. I know once they've been announced they're still a probowl selection even if they end up not going.

I mean people have always dodged the game for a variety of reasons and it definitely ramped up when the game got slotted before the Superbowl. That said, disparaging the 9th best player in a conference at a single player position is not nice!

    Dune: Prophecy

I haven't watched this show. I absolutely love the Herbert books and I thought the movies were great. It's unfortunate that I'd probably dislike this show since I'm such a fan of the IP, but I'll probably eventually watch it for the same reason I read a bunch of the shit books that weren't...

2024-2025 NBA Season - In Bronny We Trust

Getting out of the upper apron tier is a big deal. Maybe Tingus Pingus balls out and goes wild but even if he does, not sure that means much if they don't have Tatum anyways.
