We had to endure an utterly embarrassing trilogy, show after show infused with DEI and political messaging, a war against the legacy fandom, a failure to capture the imaginations of the new generation, and the best Star Wars show/content ever created (Andor S1/S2)?? Whaaat?

Did you word that weirdly, or do you seriously put Andor above the OT? Both are insane, just for different reasons

Has anyone been able to find (on the high seas) the *original* IV, V, and VI? Without the stupid CGI.

yes, despecialized is the first one but the best one for now is Project 4K 1977 v1.4 35mm which is a transfer from the original 35mm 1977 print that doesn't even mention Episode IV, just Star Wars. The one I have is 76 gigs, ESB is 61 gigs.

Heres what it looks like, grainy film and all

Empire Strikes back has a similar Empire Strikes Back 4k80 35mm version with no new CGI. I'm sure ROTJ has one too but i always watch Lucas' retouched version since the extra CGI is ridiculously funny.

Topher Grace I think also edited the prequels into a single movie.

If you did wouldn't it be video tape quality? Like 360i or some shit? Unwatchable on a modern TV.
Theatrical release was put out on laser disc so finding say the japanese laser disc type would be significantly better than VHS quality

And if you include the EU these aren't even the best stories. The thrawn trilogy is amazing. Kotor is a masterpiece story as well.

kotor was far from a good story, and TOR's story line was vastly superior to it. TOR is not centered on Revan but his storyline is pretty much just a copy pasta of darth vader (jedi turned sith who redeems himself at the end) and really isn't all that good or original.

The MMO is, broadly speaking, the story of the sith emperor tenebrae, and revan is part of like, the 3rd expansion. it takes place like hundreds of years after KOTOR and you learn that revan has been imprisoned/tortured/mind fucked by the emperor, attempts to kill him in his weakened form which actually awakens him and causes the destruction of an entire planet.

D+ probably isn't showing the original theatrical cuts is it?
As far as George Lucas and Disney are concerned, the OT pre-CGI doesn't exist. Scrubbed. George's vision had always been for Mos Eisley to be a busy metropolis packed with every species in the galaxy, streets packed with speeders and hover transports. Space battles to be significantly grander in scale with several hundred ships on each side. He couldn't begin to do it at the time with his budget and the limits of effects. Hell, ILM half invented the special effects industry while making those films. So yeah CGI release is George's vision, everything prior is ignored and unacknowledged officially.

I think it's always the kind of backwater description of the planet/cantina that throws people off when you integrate the CGI fest in. It starts to look super cosmopolitan (retarded singing scene aside) which... doesn't fit the description that is generally assumed by everyone that watched it. If it was some huge multicultural hub, why would Kenobi set up shop anywhere near it? It doesn't say "And then Obi Wan and Luke travelled for six months across the deserts to arrive." - the film absolutely makes it look like it's just the nearest outpost; not some galactic hub.
