If you are ultra casual I would not even bother with the perks. Just log in and have some fun. I consider Perks to be more for players who are pretty active and want to be among the first 100 to the top. Not losing a level is nice but honestly as a casual player it is not that big of a deal.

I forgot about the perks. Wish they would have put mercenaries in. Merchant is worth the extra dollar if you are crafting and I would say Adventurer is worth the extra dollar for the XP, if you plan to get challenger. You can always just remove it later.
