I think that is the primary reason. There is no shortage of athletic guys that would be in the heavyweight division. Those kids can get NIL deals nowadays and I would assume the collegiate wrestling programs aren't paying athletes like Football, Basketball, and Baseball programs are.

Agreed, they are struggling a bit with the heavies. That's the case pretty much everywhere it seems. The UFC has a guy that won the contender series and went on to win his UFC debut against Justin Tafa that looks like a toss-up. He's fighting a main event fight against Derrick Lewis on July 12...

I'd argue if Stipe was active during this time he would have had to have faced the whose who of the division. Outside of the Ngannou KO loss (they are 1-1), he lost to DC 6 years ago and lost to JDS 10 years ago. He's 42 but he's a dog and he's a problem for anyone in the top 5. I've been...

Me and my wife sat right behind the DJ at a UFC: Nashville event and I don't recall any crowd enhancement being used by that particular DJ. My guess is the UFC has a live audio engineer who also does the censorship in the post-fight interviews, etc.

Would love to see Francis come back in the UFC but he will never be anything more than a KO artist. Too late in the game now I believe. If he doesn't make it back I wouldn't care too much. Man, Rockhold was still throwing some heat despite being completely gassed. He's always been very dangerous with the speed and power he throws behind his strikes. I did want to add that I don't think Pena is going to have as good of a performance in the inevitable rematch. She should expect the best of the best from Amanda in a rematch. I can see Ronda falling because her only real skill-set was the Judo and submissions. Nunes however is an all-around...
