    The D&D thread

Tangent, Pathfinder 2e adventure paths have map packs with grids and the ap is totally prewritten, dm preptime ALOT less than making up your own stuff. But as long as players know its predone adventure, you trade sandbox for adventure on rails, and everyone is happy with that... I THINK it...

Aeons End is amazing deckbuilder AND co-op. If you wanna try a good, but not highly known, competitive deck builder, check out Heart of Crown.

I like Sword and Sorcery myself. Rules are a bit simpler than the average Descent clone. But thats just me.

You might not be big on co-op but Aeons End Legacy is a great game for 2 (or more, scales well). Its not super easy where you will win every time. You have to use teamwork and smarts but if/when you win its great.

Everdell has amazing visuals, no doubt. If you want a slightly more challenging, but way less pretty =/ game, look up Maracaibo on board game geek. Players are privateers in the spanish carabean (theme ala Sid Meyers Pirates). Tons of cards for engine building. Combat to ingratiate yourself...

Anyone here playing FFg Marvel Champions. They just announced a big box campaign for later this summer (quarentine willing) that will be the rise of Hydra. Found it to be a pretty tight coop game that scales really well between 1 and 4 players.

Edge of Darkness has proven to be pretty good game with my group. 8 turns + a prologue for setup, card crafting, worker placement with some cube drops thru a dice tower to simulate some random minor combat. The art is off the chain pretty, but set up and take down are a tad long. Its not...

Anyone played Escape Plan yet? Lacerdas' games are usually pretty intricate but this does not seem to be his normal brain burner. After 1st play, feels like a tigher, more focused version of Clank.

Really? I have won with both cowboy and railroad paths. I am still not great with the builder, I think that is the hardest to make work, but I have come close to winning with it on occasion.

Anyone playing Great Western Trail? Good stratigy game with alot of replayibility. Pretty easy to teach to new gamers but has enough depth that you can play over and over with different stratigy each time. The theme, cowboys and cows is pretty boring to me, but the gameplay is top notch.

Anyone played Great Western Trail? Hell of a good stratigy game @ 3-4 player, have not tried 2player yet. Does not bring much new to the table, but it takes worker placement, deckbuilding stratigy to a hell of a good game. The theme does not do alot for me, but its one of the few games that...

Best euro - Argent the Consortium, by lvl99 games. Look it up on BGG. Great gameplay, rediculous replayability as almost all components are double sided. Its not fast, and it takes up big table space but it is great.

If you like deckbuilder w/ a board (Clank, Trains, Tyrants of the Underdark) look at Path of Light and Shadow. Really enjoying this. The only complaint I have about the game so far is it ends and tallies points after 12 turns. Just when your engine really starts to optimize. Ranks with...

7th Continent is NOT an easy game and some people are put off on how the curse (endgame) can totally shut you down with no warning. I enjoy it, but it probably would not hit the table with the gaming group as much as some other games. Aeons End/War eternal is damn good coop deckbuilder that...

Mistborn and Heart of the Mist expansion is card based and pretty crunchy. Its a step up from Warhammer Quest (awesome game). Fully coop and huge amount of replayability. Heart of the Mist streamlines the rules and gets rid of event deck that is 90% screw the party events. Its not the giant...

You will not find a better value for $100. Not sure of the solo value but have played the first 3 missions with 4 people and the game is very tight. Most adventures come down to the last turn or 2. Enemy move/attack ai is very basic and can be exploited in a general sence. But every enemy...

If you like worker placement, try Manhattan Project: Energy Empire. Its a step up from Lords of Waterdeep, but not where near as cumbersom as Agricola/Cavernia. I have heard good things about the new D&d/Gf9 giants game, but $80 is pretty steep. And I am still enjoying Lords of the Underdark...

    What's going on at Blizzard?

Question. Is there any guide that will take you thru the main story quests of Cata, Panda and WoD? Civ5, the civ where I had to kiss ass to a bunch of independent tribes just to get the resourses I needed to keep my civ from falling apart. Instead of crushing them underfoot and taking their shit?!? That was better than Civ4? One unit/tile...? All they needed to fix the stack of doom from...

Just tried Tyrants of the Underdark for the first time. Alot of fun! Its a split game. 1st part is a basic deck builder that you use to generate influence to buy better cards (Thunderstone, Marvel legendary) or power to manipulate the game board, which is its own area control setting. Only...
