    Home Improvement

Hey all, I have a two part question regarding getting started finishing my basement. 1. My house had an exterior drain tile installed when it was built. I put an interior drain tile in as well around the perimeter as you can see in the photo. The top part of the channel sticks above the...

The parents of that baby who was left in the car to die

Sure you can. I have it on mine. It's generally not a huge amount - usually enough to pay for funeral expenses, etc.

    Fuck Comcast

Yeah, it's pretty obvious driving through the neighborhood who had this done. One side of the house where the feed line comes in has multiple wires running up the siding into different rooms, and it's fucking ugly as sin.

Happy Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for?

Chalk this up to the universe telling me to get my shit straight, but... A few days before Thanksgiving, I was having a real shit day at work - basically wondering why the fuck the day went to hell. I was parked on the street in my company car pondering this fucked up day when a small...

Test drove this one yesterday. Salesman told me to punch it on the straightaways and some S curves. Do want.

The "Shit I just bought" thread

We've been looking for an eventual upgrade from our Keurig. I was actually about to junk it last week due to it not working, but found out a nozzle was just plugged from grounds - so it's still chugging along. But yeah, the only downside is I'm always glued to Slickdeals for K-Cup deals...

The "Shit I just bought" thread

It will if too much is applied. I usually wipe on a decent amount, and then make three or four passes with a dry paper towel each time to soak up excess and leave a very thin film.

For cleaning, use baby oil. We've always had a bottle of baby oil around from the kids. I usually clean any stainless steel with my regular cleaner and then rub it over with baby oil to restore it to a nice shine. Olive oil works, too, but baby oil is cheap.

Yeah. I'd have to drop $500+ to outfit the house, and they only last seven years. Maybe just one to place where my CO detector is now.

The "Shit I just bought" thread

Love it. I was an early adopter and got the v1.0 when it was released, now there's v2.0 that can handle multi-staged systems, radiant flooring, etc. I was attracted to the simplistic, elegant design and the intuitive interface. It emails me every month detailing my energy usage and keeps...

    HDTVs

I'm guessing you'd need a good amount of space between everything to avoid excessive heat buildup. This may lead to having the TV sit out from the wall farther than desired.

    Whats rustling your jimmies?

Oh - roundabouts. I don't give a fuck that they are there, I just seethe with hatred when the ignoramous in front me stops and waits for all traffic to disappear before entering. Hurrr. Oh and I usually get honked at for using it correctly since the guy I merged in front of thinks he needs...

    Travel Tips: Booking a Flight

Do not fly Spirit. Their tickets 'appear' cheapest, but they reap back all that lost money on everything. Everything. Baggage -$$$, Snacks -$$$. I would never fly them personally, but I was booked on a corporate ticket for work due to their 'lowest fare' policy. By the time the company...

    Washington D.C.

Any nice hotels downtown that aren't outrageously expensive? I've traveled to DC for work and stayed at the Comfort Inn Convention Center. It was nice just to be close to everything, but damn if the hotel isn't more expensive than the airfare.

    Buying a car?

We have a 2007 RAV4, purchased new. It's just shy of 100k miles, and we've had zero problems with it. I want to say we've replaced the tires around 60-70k and the front brakes around 80kish. Other than those expenses, everything else is routine maintenance every 5k. We got the 4 cylinder...

    Breaking Bad

While it's more plausible to think Walt is initiating a hit out on Jesse or Hank, he could be setting up a hit on himself. Something along the lines of the uncle or Meth Damon 'kills' him, maybe spreading the rumor Walt refused to cook again and was killed because of that. Jesse could either...

What Made EQ Great? Tell your stories to a filthy casual

And probably of everything I remember of EQ, nothing left its memory more than camping Pyzjn. The Glowing Black Stone was the stuff of legend, and seeing someone with a glowing red fist made me green with envy. I studied that camp routine for weeks, if not more. I would sit in class and surf...

What Made EQ Great? Tell your stories to a filthy casual

It was back in 2000 when a guy I worked with at the time would not shut the fuck up about this game he was playing. Talking to me for hours about 'plat' and 'trains in Mistmoore' etc. Finally I grabbed the game off the shelf, and for $29 thought I'd give it a go. I started on Morell Thule...

Watching Walter over the entire series, he's always seemed to be able to peel himself away from Heisenberg and become Walter again when doing stuff with his family and other day-to-day things any normal person would do. Breaking Bad

It's a large leap, but Saul asked Jesse for the weed, but he put it right back in his pocket. Then when Jesse was leaving he bumped into Huell, and I'm guessing Huell lifted the weed off him and put the cigarettes back. He figured out something happened between the time he had the ricin...

We're looking to add a deck to the house this spring. Nothing fancy, somewhere around a 14x16 cedar with stairs (2nd story) and gate. We had one estimate done already, and was quoted $6,700. I was expecting maybe half that. We have another guy coming in for an estimate in a few days. Is...

    Fuck Comcast

Turned the TV on today only to find I had almost no channels. Did a little research and found about how the FCC is now allowing encryption of basic/local HD channels, and Comcast wasted no time implementing this. But I can rent an adapter to watch said channels. I guess it's PBS and Univision...

    Buying a car?

2007 Rav4 Owner here. We bought it new and have had zero problems. It currently has 91k miles on it. OEM tires lasted until the 70-80k range, had them replaced in 2011. OEM brakes lasted until this year, had them replaced today. I'm pretty religious with maintenance and whatnot, so she...
