For anyone playing I would recommend a mod called TabletopTweaks adds a ton of new stuff and fixes.

It is propably a safeguard for retards who would try to update a low battery controller and have the process fail and mess it up.

There is an NPC right next to the guy you can buy them from at least it is so for Necrolords. You pay with anime power for the upgrades.

There is a retrain option from an NPC in the tavern in game, if that doesn't allow you to change the voice you can use this mod The mod allows you to even edit classes from your NPCs and their attributes etc.

From the topic on the steam forums it seems like the game will be patched with the gamepad support and official turn based mode. I hope their implementation is at least as good as the mod.

For me Turn-Based was great, but made the game easier maybe (can adjust difficulty for that)? Also slowed the gameplay down a bit but you can switch to realtime for the easy fights.

They are adding in Turn-Based mode so no reason not buy it now. Kickstarter I dislike RTwP in games especially because they try to turn a turn based table top systems into something it wasn't from the start. Only got into Kingmaker after I downloaded the Turn-Based mod.

The cap increases with your Mastery Rank. It is capped so people don't just farm syndicate relics instead of running missions is my guess.
