For once in our fucking history. It's nice to finally see these teams, whose strategies are based around not getting called for interference, get some bad luck for once.

Honestly every team complains every other team is using the interference shield come playoff time and getting away with it. Although I will say Mike Babcock teams tend to do it more than others (obviously a few other teams that probably deserve a high ranking as well). The fact that the hand pass can't be reviewed at all is kind of shitty.

That's basically what "good defense" or "grit" is nowadays - blatant interference that doesn't get called. They also seem to like to miss icings, delays of game, and hits to the head.

The only time it really bothers me anymore is when an attacking player either stick-handles or chips the puck by a D man and it's clearly beyond him and the attacking player is trying to get around to make a play on the puck while the defender just holds up the attacker and grabs them/hits them. Get away with it for a second, maybe two...sure. But if they aren't turning to try and chase the puck or make a play on it, it should be interference every time. Lets so many slow D men get away without getting dusted with the speed of today's game.

I stand by my statement that SJS is the most deserving team of the Cup in the league, and the refs agree with me so much they'll blatantly call shit like this. (I still think the VGK call justified, and that's totally on VGK). How the fuck are handpasses not reviewable but offsides are? Also aren't all goals reviewed at a minute or two minute mark? Does that not extend into OT?

Much like delay of game, a hand-pass shouldn't be a penalty unless they put their hand AROUND the puck. It's a stupid rule as it is now.

I am kind of baffled that we haven't evolved the rules of the game beyond human error. The game really just needs sensors and more sophisticated tracking, and to do away with relying solely on men on the ice.

Hand passes aren't penalties unless you actually do close your hand. Play just gets whistled dead just like when a puck is knocked down by a high stick.

Glad to see the entire officiating crew got canned for the remainder of the playoffs. The Blues had a lot of chances to close that game out via an empty netter, so it's hard to blame the loss solely on the blatantly bad officiating at the very end. I'm hopeful this has lit a fire under the boys.

Was a great run, Canes just A) ran into a team that's playing better than anyone at this point and B) ran out of gas physically and (more) mentally. They played their best game in G3 and still lost which is just mentally draining. You're also not going to win anything if you can't score power play goals and worse, can't defend on the PK. It sucks they got swept and lost but considering they weren't even expected to be in the playoffs, it was a great season. We'll always have the McGinn game 7 2OT winner in round 1.
