I dislike the current 3 point fest nba. My solution would be simple...remove the 3point line make every shot count the same amount of points. Take today's NBA and get the teams from the late 80s and the stars then would be regularly putting up 40+ a game. Bird magic Jordon etc would be racking up the 3s

The Celtics set the record for the most 3 pointers not the warriors. So….close enough. You’re ignoring the basic facts of the modern NBA and the changes made since the 80-90s. If you think Byrd etc wouldn’t feast on lots of fouls and a spread out floor for 3 pointers, then I can’t help you.

I think y'all overlook how much better Curry is at shooting than anyone else. His off the dribble release is unbelievably fast - and accurate.

I'm not comparing Curry to an entire team. I'm comparing Curry to Bird and Johnson. Curry developed a very specific skill because he was undersized. A skill that Bird and Johnson never had to develop. Curry honed it to another level. He's the greatest shooter of all time and it's not even close. And you dudes who like to suck these old geezer dicks are just like "naw Bird woulda done it better". With really no critical reason other than wanting old shit to be better than new shit.

Thinking Bird would have hit like 10,000 threes is hilarious. Delusional.

Players weren't having to start defending players like Curry as soon as they hit the logo because of how wildly accurate they were from that range. They would have schooled them from how much space they would have given him.

Arguing eras is retarded. Players are also so much faster and stronger these days. Sports medicine and how much athletes have been able to optimize their bodies is on a whole other level. Curry would be running laps around those alcoholics midway through the third quarter.

Curry wouldn't even MAKE it to the third quarter after a couple clotheslines taken at half-court. You have no idea what defense was like in the 80's/90's. Curry would be crying to his daddy by halftime.

3s are ruining the game, range should be increased. It's the best shot statistically, why bother playing proper offense when you can just fuck around the perimeter and shot the 3s, everybody gets to shoot. Sure, it's not that black and white, but we are getting therre. Seen too much weak shit the last few years, one guy holding the ball for 20+sec, waltzing around, the other 4 pretty much standing (behind or around 3pt line), goto 10.
As for past vs. now, you've take the refrees into account. They are shit now. Lambier wouldn't last one game before getting ejected (from the league).
