The Bengals first one draft pick bailing is a huge fucking hit to a shit defense, losing a #1 like that is worse than drafting a bust. Outside of the immediate impact there is the idea that future picks might do the same, that can cause all sorts of headaches.

Is anyone else really not that impressed with Deebo there? Dude barely got any separation on #40 who I had to look up - he's Tyler Owens, their 3rd string strong safety. Daniels' throw is perfect, just not seeing the hype here they're trying to push. In my mind this just shows they need to end McLaurin's holdout.

Yeah Deebo didn't do anything special there, the QB just dropped it right in the bucket. Deebo has never been some amazing receiver. What makes him special is what he does after he catches the ball.

Which he is isn't really capable of to the same extent anymore, due to age/injuries.

He has steadily declined in practically all of his "wow" categories since 2021. YAC is down, missed tackles are down, REC Yds, Rushing Yds, Scrimmage Yds, etc. 49ers were wise to dump him. I wanted them to dump him last year. But late is better than never.

Yeah he's definitely not what he used to be on that front.

Thought the route was pretty clean, you're not going to break every guy's ankles, tidy catch, too. He's not going to be the weapon he was ~3 years ago, but if he can be even70-80% of that, will help our offense a lot.
