You can't try to reverse jinx them this early, otherwise you may get a double reverse jinx.

I believe the Chargers curse only kicks in when they start to feel some semblance of hope.

Despite our best efforts not to, we often get fooled into feeling some shred of hope, then everything goes to shit.
