Mofo been out of the game twice as long as Rivers, gtfo of here Shannon.

And he wasn't a good quarterback when he was playing. There was about a season and a half where he was electrifying but once the defenses figured out how to defend a running quarterback he was mediocre to bad. Shannon Sharpe is just going for some controversy I think.

He was about level Rivers probably was when he first retired. Bottom tier starter, higher tier backup. I do think D's adjusted to him, but there was also the simple collapse of the 49ers for a few years there after Harbaugh left. So many guys retired and their WR core was absolute dogshit.

But again, his last season in the league was 2016. Nine fucking years ago. Can pretty much guarantee Rivers far more adaptable to new schemes, too (although supposedly Colts run same scheme Rivers was running for his kid's high school team). No shot Kaepernick picking up a new scheme in a week, shit's laughable. He was never a pocket passer either, and his legs ain't doing shit for him at his age.

Kaepernick could've found a team if he really wanted to. He may be bad but he's a much better option than some of the trash cans we've had starting and/or as backups in the league since he has been gone. He's not serious about playing football. He just wants to keep this "I'm oppressed" narrative running for sponsorship deals, activism deals, etc.

That worked 5 years ago but it is definitely not working anymore. I think he really needs money.

Yeah I get the sense any of the "talks" or "workouts" he did was just for show on his end. Keep his name out there.

Yup. His resume was definitely good enough to be at least a backup on many teams, even when the falloff happened after the 2013 season. Would it have been a little difficult in 2017 with all the political fallout and the fact that Trump was president? Sure. But if he was serious about actually playing and not just pretending, he definitely could've found a team by 2018 or 2019, no doubt.

But now? Nobody is going to touch a 38 year old QB who hasn't played in 9 years. Philip had a much larger body of work, was successful for far longer, and had only been out of the league about half as long.

Ray Lewis was setting up talks for Kaepernick with the Ravens years ago and his girlfriend put out a tweet and fucked everything up. If that bitch would have kept her mouth shut he would probably been back in the league 8 fucking years ago. So fuck him.

I watch that show occasionally. I don't take them that seriously on football content but they are fucking hilarious.

This is true. The 49ers had a trade set up for him to go to Denver but he refused because he only wanted a job as a #1 QB with no pay cut, so he took a 100% pay cut instead.

I think he really needs money.

How could he? The 49ers paid him $43M along with a multi-million dollar settlement and a multi-million dollar Nike deal and he's now the CEO of an AI company and a publishing company!

Most likely explanation is some hustlers already fleeced him of most of his football money with their "smart investments". If he's actually out of money then the SJW grifters got this guy good.
