Mayfield takes a lot of risks on the run.

But fuck if it ain't good entertainment.

Gonna probably bite us in the ass with all this QB voodoo going around.

Wow, where are all you Chargers fags?
I messaged them earlier about how there's an alternate universe where Miami took Justin Herbert, the Chargers ended up with Tua, and that all their alternate selves in that universe are still alive and have yet to commit suicide.

I mean what does your alternate self really have to live for at that point? You really have to think about it a lot. So much so that you might have forgotten your team was playing Monday Night Football!

Nightmare fuel, but at last we'd have less hope to crush. Usually having good enough teams to get our hopes up (despite knowing better) is what gives our brand of misery its zest.

I think its safe to say the Raiders will not Commander and go deep into the playoffs this year.

Which raises the question if Carroll will be around once / if the Raiders do get to that stage. As has been mentioned repeatedly, he's already the oldest NFL coach ever.

I had to listen to the cowboy game on the radio. But I got a good laugh out of the cowboy announcers talking about the bad pass rush. Literally on one play they were like 'And Wilson again has all day back there oh theres a sack' I'm starting to wonder if people even fucking know what a pass rush looks like. It doesn't have to be a jail break. Collapsing the pocket like they were doing against the eagles is a pass rush (since I didn't watch I don't know if they were doing it against the giants).

Anyway, now we have a clowney. I hope he's still got some gas in the tank, I haven't been paying attention to him for a while.

At this point, he's average. Not a game-breaker, but not a statue out there either.

pretty sure the stat @Lenardo was referring to was from like 1990-2022 with a 265 team sample size. Perfect example of it in action was the Bengals missing the playoffs last year starting out 0-3

0-3 is not 0-2. It also includes legit bad teams and teams tanking. They're not in a good position, but their playoff chances are definitely higher than 11%

Probably. 11% if a team starts 0-2 to make the playoffs they make it to 0-3and it drops to like 2%i believe.

My patriots in 2nd place in the AFC east... Steelers next week do we get week 1 Rodgers or week 2? Hopefully week 2 so patriots will most likely be able to be 2-2 after week 4

I did hear recently though that a lot of this stat is made up by obviously bad teams who were not playoff teams the year prior. Obviously things change year to year, but I think the % is a bit higher when only looking at teams that made the playoffs the year prior but then started 0-2 the following season.

He doesn't. That said, with how Williams holds onto the ball, he might get a sack or two and get your hopes up.

Hey, Miami, with countrywide chatter that everyone is about to be fired, in what the Dolphins probably consider their Super Bowl this year... managed to be almost competitive.

I still don't think the Dolphins end up with the worst _record_ in the league this year, but I think it's probably the worst _situation_ in the league, in that while your Browns, Saints, etc. will also only win a handful of games, no one expects more. Miami, on the other hand, is about to be stripped to the studs, and who knows how bad things get before they dig themselves out.

They'll do enough to where they won't get fired. But yeah, the team is too flawed to get anywhere meaningful. Most of the cap is on skill positions so the O-line is devoid of talent, the D-line has no real stars, secondary is thin. The obsession with speed and being fast is also flawed. All the receivers are fast, but are also small and can't get open when play gets physical. The RB's are also small and fast.

I'm pretty confident that nobody in the secondary likes to chase around fast receivers, then instantly have to switch gears trying to tackle an RB coming out of the flat that's bigger than they are.

Edit: Oh yeah this was one of the very few games Miami has played in primetime where we didn't shit ourselves, so that's a win in a way.
