I think he would be a pretty good fit as the Lions OC assuming they revamp their O-line. Only issue I see is he might be bad for continuity as he might get poached for another HC position rather quickly if he was able to get things working properly.

Seems like that's likely to happen to the 49ers with Saleh. It's kinda like when Norv Turner left San Fran to fail at being a head coach in San Diego. Good job making two teams worse with one hire. I was hoping Saleh would follow the example of Steve Spagnuolo or Vic Fangio and accept that he's meant to be a defensive coordinator after failing at being a head coach.

Teams and coaches have a terrible memory (and ego). It's already happening with Brian Flores too. I don't see another Saleh or Flores head coaching gig ending well. Especially Flores.

Yeah, having Flores call everyone racist who didn't think he was the top coach candidate and coach anywhere he went isn't exactly a healthy environment for objective...reality. Dude is a solid DC but hasn't shown the ability to manage people well. Maybe round 2 would be different but it's not likely.

We see this happen all the time. The amount of NFL coaches that get recycled has to be a much higher % than it should be, and it's simply based on the varying amount of success you have as OC or DC in between that speeds up or slows down your chances each year to get another head coaching position.

Some guys are just meant to be really great OC/DC's...but can't make the jump to full head coach.

Edit: And I saw a tweet where Rubio specifically denied that he would be taking over as GM for the dolphins. So I think that makes the cowboys gig more likely.

Should be some good games this weekend, especially compared to how most wildcard rounds go.
