Its a similar premise in that both have fast "zombies". That being said, 28days later was a scarier premise. They are not zombies per say with 28days later. 28days and 28weeks later were both better movies that World War Z. If you like these sorts of movies, I am not sure how you managed not to watch 28days later.
I've never been a fan of horror movies. I only saw them when friends wanted to go, so I joined up.

When I started reading this thread, I thought it was the movie with Brad Pitt & the running zombies. This video clip shows me I've never actually seen 28 days later.
The soundtrack/score is worth it alone

Fairly close together we had the Dawn of the Dead remake (entertaining but kinda schlocky remake in not much more than name), Shawn of the Dead (parody that surprises you with its depth) and 28 Days Later (serious, artsy but in a good way). That was a fine time to put the genre on a shelf for a while but we got so much crap after that.

I'm assuming you're talking about 28 Days later and not the stupid World War z movie. The 28 Days later soundtrack is stupendous. It has a lot of godspeed you black emperor vibes to it.

Dawn of the Dead remake was uneven in parts, but the start of the movie was legitimately some great horror. Really encapsulates how quickly things would go to shit if you had sprinting zombies that reanimated extremely quickly

I remember being really excited about seeing that in the theater and my current roommate and I went and saw it in the theater on opening night. It was a great film. I just remember seeing all of the previews and being very excited for it and it did a pretty good job of delivering.

There's a director's cut which I don't think it adds a whole hell of a lot, but it's still pretty good and I might watch it once every couple of years.

You knew the movie was going to go fucking hard from the opening with the shot that pulls way back from the ambulance and shows it getting t-boned spectacularly.
