Nah. EA has way too many IP's to fall back on, and too much money.
Yes, but they're in serious danger of losing the Star Wars IP, SW Battlefront 2 was a failure, 2 different AAA SW games never made it to market before getting canned, and Battlefield 5 is selling very poorly despite being by all accounts a very good game.

TTG was considered AAA, and super wet behind the ears, the next young one? Sony (or SCEA?) obviously cuz of ps1 in 93.

The AAA pubs will be fine. At worse, they might wise up and stop pumping ridiculous amounts of cash into bloated projects. The most profitable games these days outside of a handful are smaller projects that take off because they're refined into being good at specific things, rather than monolithic productions that aim to appeal to everyone and their grandmother's shelf-browsing.

How to win: Nuke half your employees from orbit, with the marketing and management people being in the blastzone. Find the poor fuckers with good ideas that have been slaving underneath Brad the golfing enthusiast (AKA VP of bright ideas) and give him the reins.

What we're seeing is the result of dudes who have been in the industry too long to the point they no longer give a shit and just aim for mediocrity. They're focused on putting their shitty little kids through college and their retirement plans, not how to make their project be the best fucking game possible. These guys on top of the retarded simpletons running the community & marketing departments not understanding that they're there to sell a product and/or provide a fun experience instead of trying to change the world to confirm to their half-baked stupid ideas about how life really should be, are where the problem lies.

Take some of these bastards slaving away in Unity et al making pretty decent unique low budget games that nobody plays because they have no exposure and give them a budget to work with. It would sure as hell beat the 40 y/o balding fatbellied guy named Dave who just shrugs and says "I don't know. Maybe we should just make it a Battle Royale game" while holding out his hand for the keys to his new Lambo.
