I couldn't see myself playing past the first month anyway. The game would have to completely surprise me to last longer. So 1 isnt the worst thing. With the cheapest including a month sub, its not the worst investment either. As I usually get at least 50 or so hours of these types of games, with the chance to get much more in some cases.

Again problem is i've heard that server separation can bite you later? as the fomo crowd vanishes and you are stuck on almost empty servers, until they allow transfers or what not. So 2 wouldn't be that bad an investment, and just pay for a month($15) and any other QoL I see(usually bag space for me or weight if the game has it). And in case I end up playing longer, not being stuck on a barren server.

But I do agree, launches are almost always fun, even if it doesnt turn into something long term.

Server separation is indeed a problem but I don't see this playing out how Reddit does. I might be wrong but I feel that the F2P servers will be filled with individuals who won't even buy the sub and will thus quit even quicker, especially when they realize that they can't even use the AH.

For one month of playtime with the option of being surprised and sticking around longer, the lowest value pack and starting with the whales is the way to go in my opinion. To your point, MMO value as it relates to how many hours of fun I get versus how much I spend is always insanely good.

This popped up on youtube for me, kinda interesting to hear about the game from a point of view a lot different than mine (lol at the hair up part).

Yeah I feel like your best bet is the 5 day ea server, when the big $ guys invest in the game, it tends to be good for the long term health of the server as they are much more reticent to just drop the game. As a pure pve guy, I also want to run dungeons with whales blowing up dmg meters. Pvp, don't care about one iota so the p2w doesn't really bother me.

This is a PVE game despite the Aion title. If you like running through dungeons, you'll enjoy this. There is a lot of that (solo & group).

Aion 1 became a pve game very quickly after all the servers became massively lopsided in favor of the Elyos. First few months of pvp were a lot of fun though.

Never understood why the MMO devs back then couldn't understand that humans will always jump to the winning side if they can. So their PvP 2 sided faction designs were always flawed from the outset. WoW, Warhammer, Aion 1, etc., etc., the dumb fuck devs just couldn't see or admit the obvious. Probably why they all think men can be women now.

Even ESO, which has 3 factions, was fucked up by the devs letting people switch factions quickly. So everyone just jumped to one side and dominated. Fucking gaming devs are morons more often than not.

Hm, that Gamescom trailer for the Global release showed a lot of post launch stuff. I had assumed Global would launch with the default launch content the KR/TW did (with some QoL/Balance tweaks). Has there been some info on just what Global will get at launch?

I assume we'll get everything they changed in the last big update, minus the bump to level 50 (max was 45) and the new area, not sure about the new class. Other than that it was just Qol/balance tweaks. They do some kind of seasonal thing with the release of higher tier dungeons, I think. I quit TW not long after reaching 45. They might go the route of accelerating those releases to get us all on the same version sooner. That would be the smart thing, since I doubt this game will last very long in the west, and we all know how greedy ncsoft is.

Trailer was really good for an MMO game trailer, so linking it here for lazy folks.

It's a shame that a good portion of what's in there won't actual be available at launch (hi2u Brawler at the end).
